Allison & Lexie's excellent adventure

My sister Allison and her oldest daughter, my niece Lexie, visited me Thursday through Monday the first weekend in August. In Texas, Monty and I try to always do at least one thing new when friends visit.  Same rule applies in NYC except we did a lot more than just one thing new! (see *).  Here is a quick look at our itinerary:

Thursday

• Planes, trains and more trains
• Times Square in the rain
• Mamma Mia on Broadway
• Planet Hollywood *

Friday

• New York Water Taxi *
• 911 Memorial *
• Brooklyn Bridge *
• We didn't eat at Grimaldi's, the most famous Pizza in NY *
• El Galeon back at Pier 84 *
• Brazilian Carnival at Damrosch Bandshell, Lincoln Center *
• Logged all time fitbit record over 22,000 steps (almost 9 miles)!

Saturday

• Central Park by Pedicab *
• Get Your Green On
• Picnic in Central Park, concert on Summer Stage *
• Radio City, Rockefeller Plaza, News Studios - by foot

Sunday

• Spiderman Matinee *
• La Parisenne classic NYC diner
• Parc Vendome (my building) atrium and roof top

Monday

• Subway, train, plane

It just so happened the El Galeon a replica of the ship that discovered
 Florida was docked at our Pier,  celebrating the 500 year anniversary of discovering Florida.

This picture says it all -- Allison always talking, looking around, scoping out what is next and Lexie reveling in her own world.
I laugh everytime I look at it.
